Bounty on the Bay
If you like to catch fins, want to learn how or just eat seafood, this is the event for you. The 12th annual Bounty on the Bay Spring Chinook Fishing Tournament, sponsored by the Tillamook Estuaries Partnership (TEP), will be held at the Old Mill Marina Resort in Garibaldi, May 29 and 30. This year’s event kicks off Friday evening with a pasta dinner and workshop, followed by the tournament on Saturday and a seafood feast, silent auction and tournament awards ceremony Saturday night. Spring Chinook is widely considered to be one of the best eating fish there is and one of Tillamook County’s more prized game fish. Several registration options are available, among them:
$250 per person for tickets to dinners on Friday and Saturday nights, plus a seat on one of the boats provided by several of Tillamook County’s famed fishing guides for the tournament and a “Bounty on the Bay” T-shirt.
$125 each for those who would rather fish from their own boats plus tickets to both dinners and a T-shirt.
A number of less expensive options are also available. For more information on prices, tournament rules and how to register go to Bounty on the Bay.
Proceeds from the event fun TEP programs aimed at conservation and restoration of the five Tillamook County estuaries and the watersheds that sustain them.
